About me
I trained and qualified as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP). I am a UKCP-accredited psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice, with an academic background in psychology.
I have been working in the field of mental health for over 15 years, and have worked with a wide range of client groups from a diverse set of backgrounds. Before setting up my private practice, I worked as a therapist and manager for a non-profitable organisation that provides therapeutic communities and psychotherapy for people experiencing mental health difficulties. I have also worked as a consultant facilitating weekly staff support groups.
I have taught courses for a postgraduate training in psychotherapy accredited by Middlesex University. I have conducted staff groups and training days for multi-professional teams, and have run workshops on therapeutic communities organised by the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Centre for Quality Improvement.
I have experience in working with stress, anxiety, depression, psychosomatic symptoms, panic attacks, feelings of low self-esteem, physical and emotional abuse, bereavement, trauma, addictive patterns, relationship problems, eating disorders, and those who are struggling with a lack of purpose and meaning in their lives.
All my client work is supervised by an accredited supervisor.
I am committed to Continuing Professional Development and I adhere to the Ethical Code of AGIP and UKCP.
UKCP is a voluntary register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. This accreditation demonstrates my commitment to high professional standards, to enhancing safety and delivering a better service.
